"Ms. Iftakhar assisted me first with an LMIA matter and later with my permanent residence application. She was organized, clear about each step, and made sure everything was submitted properly. I appreciated how carefully she handled the process and explained what was required at every stage."

Client Questions
Questions that come up often in consultation.
These are some of the issues raised most often by people booking consultations from Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, and surrounding communities. Immigration options depend on current rules, timing, and the exact facts of the file.
Consultation note
Need an answer based on your own status, documents, or refusal history? Start with an initial consultation so the strategy is based on your actual file rather than a general guideline.
Can I book a consultation if I live outside Cambridge?
Yes. Many clients are based in Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, and nearby communities, but consultations are not limited to one city. What matters is whether your matter fits the services offered, whether a legal pathway may apply, and whether professional guidance would help you decide on the next step.
Can I apply for a study permit after a previous refusal?
Sometimes, yes. The key issue is not simply reapplying, but understanding why the refusal happened and whether the new application meaningfully addresses those concerns. For study permit files, refusal reasons often involve finances, program relevance, travel history, or temporary intent. A fresh application should be built around the actual refusal notes and the current facts of your case.
Can I restore my status in Canada after it has expired?
In some situations, yes, but restoration depends on timing and the type of status that was lost. In many cases, restoration must be requested within 90 days of losing temporary resident status, and the person must have complied with the conditions of their previous stay. The supporting documents and next application strategy matter, so this should be reviewed quickly.
Can I move from visitor status to a work permit or another temporary status?
That depends on the program, your eligibility, and whether you qualify under a work permit category that can be pursued from inside Canada. Some people may have an employer-specific route, an LMIA-based option, or another status strategy, while others may need to apply from outside Canada. The important step is reviewing the full timeline before taking action so status is protected where possible.
Is my CRS score high enough for Express Entry right now?
There is no single number that guarantees an invitation because Express Entry draws change over time and may target specific categories. A score that is competitive in one round may not be enough in another. The better question is whether your profile can be strengthened through language scores, education assessment, work experience, arranged employment, or a provincial nomination.
How long does family sponsorship usually take?
Processing times can vary based on the application type, where the applicant is applying from, whether additional review is required, and current IRCC volumes. Inland and overseas files can move differently. Sponsorship cases should be prepared carefully from the start because missing relationship evidence, incomplete forms, or avoidable follow-up requests often slow the process down.
